Halloween Decorating

This year I decided to decorate my room for Halloween. I had to shop around a bit to get everything I wanted/needed.  The stores I went to were Home Goods,  World Market, Kohls, Joanns, Walmart,  and Michaels.

The wreath I put together myself.  I bought the vine wreath from Walmart and got the decorations from Michaels.  I learned how to make the bow on YouTube.
Candelabra and light up pumpkin from home goods, screen and blue bottle from Joanns
Light up bat shadowbox and tea light owl from Joanns, tea light haunted house from Kohls.
Spooky wire tree from Joanns, and stacked books cookie jar from world market

Bat mantel cover from Joanns and branch lights from home goods.

Works from 2009

Here are some of my works from 2009 and earlier.
These scarves were the start of me learning to knit:

These were the first stuffed creatures I made.

His nose came out a bit wonky, but still one of my faves.
Pattern: http://www.thevintageknittinglady.co.uk/toypatterns.html

The first time I adjusted a pattern was with these two.

Sackboy, I made him for a friends xmas gift.

Bear Beanie

Pattern: Bear Hat by Micah York
I am currently working on a bear beanie for a newborn. The link to the pattern is: http://www.micahmakes.com/blog/crochet-bear-hat-pattern but the pattern im trying to make it look like is this one: http://www.etsy.com/listing/66522161/teddy-bear-earflap-hat-w-ties-adult. I like the features of the second one, but didnt think it would be hard to figure out for myself instead of paying for it. We will see, so far this is what I have.

I did adjust the pattern, I omited round 6 for the beanie and added a few rows of sc around to make the hat 5 in long from crown to end.
I tried replicating the ears from the second pattern, but ended up liking these better. Since they are doubled over I think they will also be easier to make stand up. I also added a row of sc to the end of the bear ears in order to make them a little bigger. I also added a little stuffing between the tan part of the nose and the beanie
Here is the finished product. I think it came out pretty close to the pic of the other pattern
Here is what I did for the features, h hook with worsted weight yarn.
The tan part of the nose pattern:
ch 9
  1. sc in second ch, sc 7, turn ch1
  2. 2 sc in sc, 8 sc, 2 sc in sc, turn ch1
  3. sc 10, turn ch1
  4. 2 sc in sc, 10 sc, 2 sc in sc, turn ch1
  5. sc 12, turn ch1
  6. sc 12, turn ch1
  7. sc around the whole piece, break yarn finish off with seamless join
The black part of the nose pattern:
ch 5
  1. sc in second ch, sc 3, turn ch1
  2. sc 4, turn ch1
  3. sc1, sc2tog, sc1, turn ch1
  4. sc 3, turn ch1
  5. yo in each stitch pull through all, ch1, sc around, break yarn finish off with seamless join
The eyes: D hook
magic circle 4
1. sc 2 in each stitch (8 sc), break yarn finish off with seamless join

Just received this pic so cute on!
